WHAT IS ANDROID AUTO?

If you drive a car, you’ve probably heard about Android Auto - But what actually is it and why should you consider downloading it?

Believe it or not, Android Auto has been around since 2015 but it’s starting to really gain popularity in recent times.

Very similar to Apple’s CarPlay, Android Auto is the equivalent of the mobile application. The app is designed to make your trips safer, providing a hand-free system whilst driving your car, reducing overall distractions.

Android Auto was developed by Google, who created the app to reflect what an Android phone can offer, but in your car.

Essentially, the app can control most of your phone's features through your vehicle's dashboard head unit. Android Auto allows you to access all the applications on your phone through your car, simply by plugging it in through a USB cable.

The intuitive interface displays apps on your phone, inclusive of methods of communication like Messages and music applications like Spotify for audio in cars.

And the best part about the Android Auto?

It responds to voice demands. You can ask Google questions, play music and send messages to people without lifting a finger. 

As part of the Open Automotive Alliance, Android Auto is a combined effort of 28 automobile manufacturers and is available in 36 different companies.
