DAB RADIO
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DAB RADIO?
If you’ve just bought a new car, or looking to buy one, you should know a thing or two about what Digital Radio is and what it can do.
DAB stands for Digital Audio Broadcasting - Which basically means a method of broadcasting radio digitally, instead of an analogue signal seen in most older cars.
DAB has been available in Australia since 2011. DAB has since upgraded to a version that is three times more efficient to the previous DAB car radio adaptor in Australia.
Digital Radio in Australia is said to one day replace the well known AM/FM, as it is extremely efficient compared to traditional car audio.
Digital Radios are now pretty common in most cars, with a range of benefits. You can access a huge range of radio stations, giving you the ability to listen to car audio on a national scale. Users of DAB also have more access to information around the content that they’re listening to. DAB users can see what they're listening to, inclusive of song names, artists and more!
DAB also allows users to listen to their favourite radio stations without interruption, reducing the loss of signal many face when listening to the radio on the road.
HOW TO GET DAB RADIO IN CAR
When the radio is installed, you will need to navigate to the ‘Media Section’ of the cars interface and select ‘DAB’ as an option. You won’t need to manually search for stations like you would have previously, instead all digital stations will be available for you to discover yourself.
If you want to further improve your range, users can purchase an external antenna to get an even better signal.
